Lovely Ankara styles for wedding

Lovely Ankara styles for wedding

Ankara styles for wedding are not new, after all, this is a fabric that looks utterly traditional for Africa. This is why it has often been chosen for dresses and ensembles for special occasions. Let’s now take a look at several very interesting ideas of wearing Ankara styles on such a special day.

Traditional Ankara styles for wedding

In Nigeria, when choosing dresses for special occasions, many women give preference to floor-length gowns with mermaid-style bottoms. Such gowns look luxurious, emphasize the bodily beauty of Nigerian women, and offer space for creativity. Quite often, ladies choose posh fabrics like lace, silk, satin, taffeta, and provide plenty of decorations.

Ankara fabrics are bright enough to do without much decoration and look absolutely traditional and native. If you attend a wedding made in a native style, there’s no better choice for you than an Ankara dress combined with Nigerian jewelry and an elegant gele.

Long Ankara variations

As well, you can make a wide bell-like skirt with lovely folds that will make your waist look even thinner and create an astounding shape.

Combined materials

However, you are not obliged to copy the existing styles. You should feel free to try something new and, maybe, create one of the latest Ankara styles for wedding. For instance, you can always combine Ankara with other materials. Lace, silk, satin are at your disposal. What’s more, you can always combine colors and textures.

Skirt and blouse

What about replacing a whole gown with a lovely skirt and blouse made of Ankara? It’s time to rock the Ankara wedding styles and why not to wear something a little daring but still extremely elegant?

Short Ankara dresses for weddings

It's a fact, short Ankara dresses are perfect for bridesmaids and guests. If you are planning to charm everyone's heart with your liveliness, you should definitely wear something as bright and sunny as Ankara.

Other ways to wear Ankara styles for a wedding

Wearing Ankara for a wedding doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to have a dress wholly made out of Ankara. You can have an Ankara gele that will go perfectly well together with a single-color dress, for example. You will have an outfit that looks like one of the most traditional Nigerian Ankara styles for wedding.

You can have, for instance, a white pencil dress that’s decorated with an Ankara jacket worn over it. The combination of snow-white and multi-colored Ankara is always fresh and extremely beautiful.

Besides that, Ankara is a perfect choice for accessories. A purse and shoes with the characteristic Ankara patterns will add a touch of freshness and liveliness to any single-color dress. Massive earrings and necklaces with details wrapped in Ankara are other lovely accents that will make your attire look traditional and modern at the same time.

Ankara styles for men

Ankara styles for wedding 2017 say that this fabric and these patterns are not only for women. Grooms' friends can also wear Ankara but in their case, it’s better to choose only one item of their outfit and make it look that bright.

For example, if the groom wears a traditional Agbada and so do his friends, it's better to choose Ankara for their shirts that are worn under the top gown. In case he’s dressed in the western way, Ankara can be the material for their shirts or even jackets. The rest of the attire should be single-colored, of course.

messi.

One of the most remarkable things about Lionel Messi is the fact his character hasn’t been affected by either global fame or fortune.

The Argentine is still the same shy, humble, mild-mannered lad that first burst onto the scene during the mid-2000s.

He’s matured as an individual, of course, and is now much more of a leader on the pitch - but ultimately he’s still the same person.

Messi has rarely been in trouble for his on-pitch conduct over the past 13 years but there have been a few incidents of bad behaviour over the years.

He was sent off just 40 seconds into his Argentina debut in 2005 for an elbow - the only red card of his career, incidentally - and was banned for four matches last year after insulting an assistant referee during a World Cup qualifier against Chile.

Messi, like almost every other footballer, has also had various bust-ups with opponents down the years - mostly borne out of frustration because they haven’t stopped fouling him.

On the whole, though, his behaviour on the pitch has been exemplary.

Messi clashes with referee duringChelsea match

However, Messi is in a position where he can probably get away with saying more to referees and assistants than most other players because of his status as arguably the greatest footballer of all time.

If he feels he’s been wronged, he won’t keep quiet.

And that’s exactly what happened on Wednesday night during the Champions League clash between Barcelona and Chelsea at the Camp Nou.

Towards the end of the first half, referee Damir Skomina told Messi to be quiet after the Argentine protested against one of his decisions.

What Messi said to the referee when told to shut up

And now we know, thanks to Marca, what Messi said back to the Slovenian match official.

"You don't speak badly to me," Messi said after being told to “turn it down”.

"I didn't disrespect you, did I?"

Most players would have been booked for responding

Most players would have received a yellow card for having the audacity to respond after being told to shut up but Messi, who had a point, can clearly get away with more than his colleagues.

The 30-year-old, who already has a goal and an assist to his name by this point, went on to score his second goal of the match in the second half, ensuring his side will be in the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals.

Does this prove that it’s one rule for Messi and another for every other player? Have your say by leaving a comment below.

Lagos State Police Command has arrested a fashion designer, Bisi Olukayode, for allegedly torturing her maid, Anjuah Sunday, aka Titi, at her residence in theLekki area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Sunday had been living with the suspect at her residence in Lekki Gardens Estate Phase 3, for two years.

The Togolese, who arrived in Lagos with her grandmother, was allegedly renamed Titi and handed over to the Olukayodes by an agent. It was alleged that Bisi tortured the 14-year-old with sticks, wire and canes, during which the victim sustained injuries in different parts of her body.

Bisi allegedly usually locked up Sunday in a toilet anytime she (Bisi) was going out.

Some residents, whom the victim reportedly begged for food through the window of the toilet, alerted officials of the Office of the Public Defender.

A social worker at the OPD told punch correspondent that the agency visited the estate on Tuesday with a view to rescuing the victim. She said the officials first reported at the Adeniji Adele Police Station and got police back up for the operation.

“We got there round 10am. The estate security guards cooperated with us after we told them our mission.

We, however, discovered that the suspect’s house was locked; though we suspected that the woman and the girl were inside the house. We called her telephone number and told her we had come to see her about the girl.

She immediately switched off the phone and refused to talk. “We didn’t leave until around 3pm because we learnt that the husband usually brought the children from school around that time. When we didn’t see him, we called him as well, but his phone rang out,” she added.

She noted that while the rescue team was leaving the estate, the security men were asked not to allow the couple sneak out with the maid.

Around 7pm, the suspect’s husband was said to have returned into the estate with the children in a cab.

The husband reportedly asked the cab driver to switch off the vehicle’s inner light, as he took their three children into the house.

Heartless Mother Kills Her Two Children With Rat Poison - INFORMATION NIGERIA

Heartless Mother Kills Her Two Children With Rat Poison - INFORMATION NIGERIA

A court in Guyana has found a heartless mother guilty of killing her two children with rat poison. A 12-member jury in Guyana has found Awena Rutherford, 25, guilty of killing two of her children through poisoning.

Rutherford allegedly gave her one-year-old Jabari Codogan and four-year-old Odascia Codogan two halves of one carbon tablet, which caused their deaths on March 27, 2014. The accused, however, maintained that she thought she was buying cold tablets for them.

“Who would go to the Plaisance Bus Park to buy cold tablets from a man that sells rat poison?”
was the question State Prosecutor Tiffini Lyken had put to the 12 member-jury during her closing address at Rutherford’s manslaughter trial on Wednesday.

She also drank two of the same tablets and was hospitalised for several days.

During the hearing before Justice Navinda Singh, Jabari Codogan Sr, testified via Skype from Brooklyn, New York that he supported his children even after he separated from Rutherford.

Although, he communicated with them every day, he was not told that they were suffering from a cold. Awena and the children were staying with the defendant’s sister, Monica Sealey and her husband, Curt, who both testified that they never noticed the children suffering from any cold symptoms prior to their deaths.

Rutherford maintained that she never bought rat poison and that the police treated her unfairly. However, multiple police witnesses maintained that Rutherford repeatedly said she was stressed and had problems and that she indeed gave her children the supposed cold tablets.

Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh, confirmed that the children died from pesticide poisoning by way of ingesting aluminium phosphate, which is commonly known as carbon tablets.

After the jury’s decision, Rutherford was heard screaming and she subsequently collapsed on the courtroom floor. Justice Singh left the bench after 20 minutes of her being on the floor and adjourned the matter to Friday for sentencing.
