Didier Drogba has given his honest opinion about Lionel Messi and not everyone will agree

Didier Drogba has given his honest opinion about Lionel Messi and not everyone will agree

drogba.

This summer’s World Cup finals might be Lionel Messi’s final opportunity to land his hands on football’s most prestigious trophy.

The Argentina forward will be 35 by the time the 2022 World Cup in Qatar gets underway - and most players around the same age have already retired from international football.

Of course, there’s nothing to say that Messi won’t still be part of the Argentina squad for the 2022 World Cup. But even if he is still playing for his country, it’s hard to believe that he will be as good then as he is now.

Messi has produced some of the best football of his career for Barcelona this season and will travel to Russia this summer at the peak of his powers.

End of season burnout could be a problem for the 30-year-old - like it was in Brazil four years ago - but Messi will ensure that he does everything to arrive in the best possible physical condition.

There are still a significant number of football fans who believe that Messi needs to win a World Cup - or at least a major title with Argentina - to be considered the best footballer of all time.

Others disagree with this argument and claim Messi has already cemented his status as the greatest thanks to his extraordinary performances for both club and country over the past 12 or so years.

Messi may not have won a title with Argentina - aside from the 2008 Olympics - but he has dragged his country to a World Cup final and two Copa America finals.

That’s an achievement in itself and shouldn’t be sniffed at.

Didier Drogba gives his honest opinion about Messi

Didier Drogba, however, falls into the former category.

The Chelsea legend believes that both Pele and Diego Maradona still have the edge over Messi because of their legendary achievements at international level.

"To win a World Cup would make him even more legendary. He's an extraordinary player!" Drogba was quoted as telling AFPby Sport.

"He's still not at the heights of [Diego] Maradona and Pele, but he's not far away."

Not sure everyone will agree, Didier.

Messi fans would argue that for sheer talent as well as achievements at club level, their hero has surpassed both Maradona and Pele.

But this summer will provide Messi with another opportunity to silence those who argue he needs a World Cup winners’ medal in his collection to be called a true legend of the game.

Argentina are currently the bookmakers' fifth favourites to win the World Cup behind Germany, Brazil, France and Spain.

They kick off their 2018 World Cup campaign against Iceland on June 16.

Also in their group are Croatia and Nigeria.

Nicki Minaj has reportedly been thinking about her ex Meek Mill and is willing to give their romance another chance if he gets out of prison soon.

“Nicki has been thinking about Meek lately and thinking about how she feels he should be out of prison,” a source close to Nicki claims

Source further claims, “She wants to work with him again and she has also been thinking about him romantically and leading her thoughts to the times they had when they dated a few years ago. She thinks that a spark could be brought up again and she would absolutely give him another chance if he were to get out of prison soon. She’d very much consider it and is willing to give him a second chance if that is something he’d be interested in as well.”

It should noted, Meek was sentenced to two to four years in state prison on Nov. 6 for violating his probation which he was on for almost 10 years after being convicted on gun and drug charges at the age of 21. His sentencing caused a lot of controversies after many considered it to be too excessive and it turns out it may get overturned very soon.

BREAKING NEWS: Former President Arrested Over Campaign Financing

BREAKING NEWS: Former President Arrested Over Campaign Financing

Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy is being held by police in connection to alleged campaign funding from late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Mr Sarkozy is being questioned as part of an investigation into "irregularities" in election campaign financing, a French court source told Reuters.

He is said to have accepted €50m from Muammar Gaddafi's regime, claims which have been repeated by the late Libyan dictator's son and French businessman Ziad Takieddine.

The amount would be more than double the legal spending limit in French elections at that time, which was €21m.

Alleged payments would also violate French laws on foreign financing and declaring the source of campaign funds.

Mr Sarkozy and his campaign manager have repeatedly denied accepting money from Libya.

According to Le Monde, this is the first time Mr Sarkozy has been questioned in relation to this investigation, which was opened in April 2013.

He can be held for up to 48 hours and presented to a magistrates' court for indictment if police seek charges.

Mr Sarkozy has already been ordered to stand trial in a separate case, concerning the financing of his 2012 re-election campaign, when he lost to Francois Hollande.

In March 2011, Saif al Islam Gaddafi, the late dictator's son, told Euronews: "Sarkozy has to give back the money he accepted from Libya to finance his electoral campaign. We financed his campaign and we have the proof…

"The first thing we're demanding is that this clown gives back the money to the Libyan people."

Mr Takieddine claims he delivered three suitcases stuffed with cash to Paris between 2006 and 2007, and handed them over to Mr Sarkozy in the interior ministry when he was a minister.

Mr Sarkozy was president of France from 2007 until 2012.

He attempted to stage a comeback for the 2017 election, but failed to convince the voters in his own party to support him and had to concede to Francois Fillon and Alain Juppe.

Mr Sarkozy faced accusations of exploiting L'Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt, taking advantage of her "mental fragility" to seek a donation to his political party for the 2007 election, but the case against him was dropped.

He had a fraught relationship with Colonel Gaddafi during his presidency. He welcomed the Libyan dictator to Paris early on in his tenure but then put France at the forefront of Nato-led air strikes that helped topple his regime in 2011.

‘‘Guys Never Marry A Lady Above 30, She Is Close To Menopause And Likely To Give Birth To An Imbecile For You’’ – Baker writes

‘‘Guys Never Marry A Lady Above 30, She Is Close To Menopause And Likely To Give Birth To An Imbecile For You’’ – Baker writes

A South African Baker @nandi_cakes, took to his Twitter page, to list reasons why marrying a woman above 30 is a ‘wrong move’.

According to the South African Baker, such women have low fertility and baby with such lady might have downs syndrome. Here’s what he wrote;

Why men shouldn’t marry women over 30 A THREAD

Firstly women over-30 have a lower fertility. If you want to build a family with these old donkeys be prepared to possibly have a downs syndrome child. 2. When you marry a 30+ woman, you’re marrying her 30+ pe*nises she’s had over her long life on earth. She has more bodies than a grave yard.

Women over-30 are very bitter from the wasted prime spent on failed relationships she hoped would lead to marriage. Now that you’re marrying her, she should be grateful, but she’s not. She’s always just angry.

By marrying a woman over 30+ you are investing everything in a rapidly depreciating pleasure provider that has already lost a lot of its aesthetic value… She will be wrinkled in the next 5 years and already having back problems.

Many guys these days are marrying early 30’s women, and then, almost immediately – Bam!. It’s over almost before it began. Its because you are trying to make ancestors housewives. Leave these dinosaurs.

Marrying an over-30 woman is like buying a used car 1Km short of its 120,000km servicing. The over-30 woman can fix herself up enough to fool the prospective provider/hubby for a short while, and once the line that is dotted is signed her true colours come out.

Many women who are not married in their late 30s today never saw it coming. They had a plan: finish their first degree, masters, a job, a promotion, make money, be independent and settle down by 30, latest 32.

Over the years, they turn down potential husbands, go on a partying spree like they have frozen time, only to arrive at 35 with nothing to show for it other than a dead end job, a car, and sometimes a child from a relationship that never quite worked out

So, now they are stuck in a phase where they will never find a man of their dreams and have to settle for any man who will be gracious enough to even suggest marriage. By now, all those flimsy and shallow standards they used to have are gone, humility is their second name.

I have seen many women on Twitter in their 20s buy into the misguided, feminist belief that men & marriage are bad for their academic & career advancement. What feminism does not factor in is that the older a woman get, the less a chance she stands of marrying someone desirable.

This is a fact of life, don’t come here with your Nywe Nywe Nywe misogyny… VOETSEK

Very few men would marry a 35+ woman when we live in a highly hypergamous (act of marrying someone wealthier than you) society. There are plenty of young and hot beautiful women ready to settle into a marriage where they play the second fiddle as long as the man provides.

It is good to be ambitious, even better to break the stupid glass ceilings, but at what price? Bottom line, at some point, you will need a man in your life. My experience of having observed women 30+ has proven that they mostly live a life full of regrets.

Let me share with you from my observations the signs that a woman is likely to end up single, and lonely and stay away from these types!! 1. She values education and career over marriage and relationship. She’s always throwing statements like “Marriage isn’t an achievement”

2. At age 30+ she has more liquor in her refrigerator than fruits and vegetables. 3. She can take down more shots than any of her peers at 30+ who have kids 4. She’s into smoking cigarettes and addicted to weed. 5. Her idea of fun at age 30+ is a night out with the girls.

6. At age 30+ she still insists on only dating men based on what their career is. “He’s a lawyer” “He’s a doctor” “He’s an engineer” 7. The idea of cooking for a man is a total turn-off to her.

8. She has never forgiven her father for abusing her mother, or her first boyfriend used to abuse her and she now thinks every man is violent and controlling. 9. She is so much into fashion, and hair-styling she doesn’t want to be identified as being old in her circles

10. Her job involves a lot of travelling. 11. She can easily find a parking spot at Taboo than her way to church. 12. She believes in absolute equality in marriage without any sacrifice or compromise.

My brother if you find an ancestor over 32+ Love yourself…… run away from these dinosaurs

Barcelona to have to pay at least €60M should they wish to beat Real Madrid to signing of Dutch wonder-kid

Barcelona to have to pay at least €60M should they wish to beat Real Madrid to signing of Dutch wonder-kid

Barcelona are reportedly set to have to pay at least €60M if they want to secure the signing of Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid.

This is according to Spanish news outletDon Balon, who have stated that the Bluagrana and Los Blancos are both interested in signing the 18-year-old, and that club president Josep Maria Bartomeu wants the player as a replacement Yerry Mina.

The news outlet are also stating that Ajax’s Marc Overmans has said that the club will not be letting the player go for anything under the price of €60M, so it seems as if Ernesto Valverde’s side will have to fork out a fair bit if they wish to sign the defender.

Barcelona will have to break the bank if they wish to bring De Ligt to the Camp Nou

Despite being just 18 years old, De Ligt has already managed to cement himself as a first team regular at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Having only made his first team debut for the Dutch giants last season, De Ligt has already managed to make a total of 56 appearances for the club, scoring six and assisting two in that time, a great return for a player of his age.

The centre-back has also managed to make his mark on the international stage as well, with the 18-year-old having already picked up three caps for the Netherlands since his debut last year.

De Ligt’s defensive abilities and ability on the ball has seen some label the player as one of the brightest prospects in European football.

Should Barcelona end up upping their pursuit of De Ligt, it’ll be interesting to see if the Spanish giants fork out the €60M that Ajax want for the youngster.

There are at least 1 million Africans in the bottom of Atlantic Ocean - Report

There are at least 1 million Africans in the bottom of Atlantic Ocean - Report

An unconfirmed report has claimed that there are at least 1 million African men and women in the bottom of Atlantic Ocean who were reportedly thrown overboard by European slave traders either because they were unruly or sick.

The unconfirmed report claimed the Africans belonging to different tribes such as Yoruba, Fulani, Igbos, Ashanti, AKan, Mandinka, etc. were thrown and fed to the sharks in the ocean.

Similarly, a report by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) stated that thousands of migrants have died or disappeared globally since 2014, adding that more than half of them perish while attempting to cross the Mediterranean.

The IOM report in part: “While overall numbers of migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean by the eastern route were reduced significantly in 2016 by the EU-Turkey deal, death rates have increased to 2.1 per 100 in 2017, relative to 1.2 in 2016.

“Part of this rise is due to the greater proportion of migrants now taking the most dangerous route – that across the central Mediterranean – such that 1 in 49 migrants now died on this route in 2016.

“Since 2014, more deaths have been documented on this route than any other migration route in the world. In the first half of this year, the IOM said at least 3,110 migrants have died or disappeared globally, which is lower than the figure in 2016 (4,348), but the risk of dying has increased in the Mediterranean even though fewer migrants crossed into Europe.

“The central Mediterranean route, ending at Lampedusa or the main island of Sicily, accounts only for about a quarter of almost 1.5 million people who have arrived since 2014 on all routes, but for 88% of all migrant deaths in the Mediterranean.”

A data compiled by the UN’s migration agency also shows that a clampdown on Europe’s eastern borders has forced migrants to choose more dangerous routes as the death toll in the Mediterranean continues to rise despite a drop in the overall number of arrivals.

NAIJ.com previously reported that the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday, March 20, said that an electric fence along the Israel-Egypt border had saved Jewish state from jihadist attacks or what he believed would be worse - a tide of African migrants.

Netanyahu's office quoted him as telling a development conference in the southern Israel desert town of Dimona that if it was not for the fence, the country would be faced with severe attack by Sinai terrorists and something much worse, which he said was a flood of illegal migrants from Africa.

The Interior Ministry stated that there are currently some 42,000 African migrants in Israel, mainly from Sudan and Eritrea, and the government has ordered that thousands of them must leave or face indefinite imprisonment.

Single Parents Day: 5 Nollywood Single Parents We Love

Single Parents Day: 5 Nollywood Single Parents We Love

Single Parent’s Day is annually celebrated on March 21. It is a day set aside to recognize and applaud the sacrifices made by single parents to provide their children’s needs and cater for their well-being in the face of their work and life’s challenges or other circumstances.

In 1984, an article was written by Janice Moglen with the hope that Single Parent Day may one day gain the recognition many associate with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  She collaborated with the organization, Parents Without Partners, and began to petition to have states declare recognition of Single Parent Day.

We all know parenting is a tough job and if you are a single parent, your responsibilities are doubled. Managing your work together with the kid(s) and the home demands a great deal of strength and determination, which is why we would like to acknowledge few Nollywood actresses who are single parents and are working tirelessly everyday to raise happy and beautiful children despite their overly demanding job and lifestyles.

IYABO OJO

The widely known Yoruba movie actress is well-respected for effortlessly playing the role of a father and mother to her two lovely kids, Festus and Priscilla. Asides acting, Iyabo is known as an entrepreneur who has a number of business ventures up her sleeves and in spite of her tight schedules, she never toys with her children’s well-being. Festus, her first child, who is presently studying in a University abroad was awarded Best Behaved Student in his set when he graduated from Secondary School.

TONTO DIKEH

Last year, Tonto Dikeh stunned her fans when she stormed her son’s school fully dressed as a man in celebration of Father’s Day because her husband was no longer in the picture. After partying ways with her ex-husband, Tonto has continued to work at being both a great father and mother to her cute son, King Andre. It is worthy of note that the actress who is popularly known as Mama King is immensely enjoying motherhood and is always seen gushing about her son.

UCHE OGBODO

The sultry nollywood actress was one time married to ex-Nigerian footballer, Ato Ubby, though the union was short lived, it produced a beautiful daughter, Chinagorom. Uche once revealed during an interview that her life was more fulfilling as a single mother than as a single girl without a child.

MERCY AIGBE

The fashionista actress had to walk out of her turbulent marriage to hotelier, Ashiwaju Lanre Gentry, after series of accusations ranging from domestic violence to emotional abuse and infidelity. Before her marriage to her estranged husband, the mother of two had her first daughter, Michelle, when she was 22 and she was later blessed with a son, Juwon, in Gentry’s home. Since the separation, she has singlehandedly been taking care of her beautiful kids.

GRACE AMAH
