Meet the women of upcoming Nollywood movie

"New Money," the latest collaboration between Inkblot Productions andFilmone, is one that boasts a talented female director and strong female characters.

This week, one of the most anticipated Nollywood films of the year, "New Money" will debut in cinemas.

A collaboration between Inkblot Productions and Filmone Distribution and production, "New Money" is produced by the makers of "The Wedding Party (1&2)," "The Arbitration," "My Wife and I" and "Taxi Driver."

While Inkblot Productions and Filmone Distributions have made a point to tell stories about love, betrayal, trust and identity, their collaboration is one that often boasts of female directors and strong female characters.

In "New Money," newbie, Jemima Osunde(Toun Odumosu) is at the forefront of the film leading female characters likeOsas Ajibade, Bikiya Graham- Douglas and Wofai Fada, who play her cousin, mentor and best friend, respectively.

They are joined by veterans Dakore Akandeand Kate Henshaw, whose characters are on different ends of the table, trying to get Toun Odumosu to do what they think is best for her.

“We believe that the Nollywood revolution has been driven largely by our female audience and so, of course, it makes sense hire visionary female directors and give them the platform to tell their stories.” Chinaza Onuzo, one of the founders of Inkblot Production says in a statement.

Since 2015, Inkblot and Filmone have worked with female directors on films like"The Department" (Remi Vaughan-Richards), "The Wedding Party" (Kemi Adetiba)"My Wife and I" (Bunmi Ajakaiye), "New " (Tope Oshin) and most recently, the upcoming "Moms At War" byOmoni Oboli.

"New Money" also features Blossom Chukwujekwu, Wale Ojo,  Folarin “Falz” Falana, Femi Branch, Daniel Etim Effiong, Adeolu Adefarasin and Kalu Ikeagwu.

"New Money" opens in cinemas on March 23, 2018.
