Everyday Health also suggests loading up on vitamin C to fight an active UTI. The increased acidity of urine helps the body fight the bacteria causing the UTI. Fight the bacteria by eating yogurt, which contains probiotics. Probiotics are also available in pill form. If urinating is especially painful, try drinking a solution of half a teaspoon of baking soda mixed with water to soothe the burning sensation.

To treat a chronic UTI, WebMD suggests taking cranberry supplements and seeing a health care professional to get a prescription for antibiotics. To prevent a UTI, Mayo Clinic advises drinking fluids, especially water, which helps to dilute urine and flush bacteria from the bladder. After sexual intercourse, try urinating as soon as possible, ideally drinking a full glass of water to help. Wiping front to back prevents bacteria from spreading to the vagina from the anus.

EPL: Mourinho speaks on Alexis Sanchez being unhappy at Manchester United

EPL: Mourinho speaks on Alexis Sanchez being unhappy at Manchester United

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has debunked speculations that Alexis Sanchez is not happy at the club.

Sanchez moved to Old Trafford in January from Arsenal.

The Chilean has scored only once in nine appearances for United in all competitions.

Mourinho was asked whether Sanchez was happy at the club, following the 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday.

“He’s fine. He’s happy that the team is getting results.

“Lately, he wasn’t happy when we lost matches with him but he’s a guy with great maturity, with great attitude and we couldn’t be happier,” Mourinho said.

United face Sevilla next in the Champions League on Tuesday, before taking on Brighton in the FA Cup quarter-final.

3 things that need to change at Nigerian weddings

3 things that need to change at Nigerian weddings

What to watch out for and manage properly at your wedding ceremony.

Nigerian weddings are almost always fun  (CoolVal22)

Where a Nigerian wedding holds, you can be sure that the fun will be unlimited.

If there is anything Nigerian weddings are known for, it is the loud celebrations, flamboyantly gorgeous attires and a rich mix of the traditional and the contemporary; great food, solid rhythms and unmeasured dosages of fun.

Over time, sadly, some unpleasant things have become part of the wedding culture in the country and anyone who has been to a wedding ceremony would have noticed at least one of the three listed below.

What needs to be changed at Nigerian wedding ceremonies  (Pinterest)

1. Parking Space

Driving to a wedding ceremony could actually make you tired and frustrated before you even step into the hall. Parking spaces are usually so little, and most times unavailable at wedding receptions and it’ll always leave guests flustered.

You will most likely suffer to find a parking space  (Blogger)

2. Time management

This is one problem visible in every sphere of the Nigerian society and it’s there at weddings as well.

It’s either the bride is not arriving on time at the church, or the bride and groom are both keeping everyone waiting at the reception because they have been delayed by activities at the church...

All in all, while you can be sure that fun and enjoyment will be at a premium during the enjoyment, you can also be quite certain that almost nothing will be done to time.

I have been at a wedding whose reception didn’t start till after 3pm. It’s a Nigerian wedding thing.

You might see all these foods, and get nothing out of it  (Nairaland )

3. Food

Some might argue that there is a certain tribe more guilty of this than other tribes but that is not the point here.

Wherever you go for a wedding, there is every likelihood that distribution of gift items/souvenirs will be by favouritism, and that might not worry everyone so much as the favouritism that happens when it comes to distribution of meals and other edible things.

Bet everyone would freak out at this because, truly, it could be so annoying.

Kenneth Okonkwo: Why I’m Running For Enugu Governorship Election In 2019

Veteran Nollywood actor and lawyer Kenneth Okonkwo has confirmed that he is indeed serious about his plan to venture into politics.

Kenneth Okonkwo

In a recent chat with TS Weekender, the actor said he decided to run because he is unhappy by the approach the incumbent governor of Enjugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is using to rule Enugu.

His words:

Uwuanyi’s style is all about mounting billboards and renting crowd, the more you look, the less you see.

“We will take things step by step. We have just taken the first step; there would be a lot to let out of the bag in due course. My people from the entire Enugu North have just presented me to the party as their candidate. That was the first step.”

Renowned Nollywood Actor Kenneth Okonkwo

Ironically, Okonkwo, who declared on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), campaigned vigorously for the incumbent governor back in 2015.

Those supporting Okonkwo’s include former Enugu Governor Sullivan Chime, Voice of Nigeria boss, Osita Okechukwu, Ex-APC governorship candidate Oke Ezea and former Enugu House Of Assembly speaker, Eugene Odo.

Do you think he stand a chance to emerge Enugu state’s next governor?

How to Be Naturally Beautiful As a Teen Girl

How to Be Naturally Beautiful As a Teen Girl

Most teenage girls want to look their best and feel beautiful without overdoing it. The key is to focus on healthy activities, taking good care of yourself and nourishing your soul as much as your body.

Part One of Four:
Staying healthyEdit

Eat healthily. Put the right foods into your body each day. Eat foods like fruits, veggies, and grains. Eat foods high in vitamins and nutritious content. Keep the portions small and reasonable.

Stay hydrated. Always drink at least 2 liters (0.5 US gal) of fresh, cold water every day to keep your skin radiant and glowing.[citation needed]

Part Two of Four:
Maintaining good hygieneEdit

Have a shower every day to keep clean and be odor-free. If you don't like showers, have a bath. Work out whether the morning or the evening is the best time for your body wash; vary as needed.

Care for your hair. Wash your hair frequently. How often depends on your hair type, but start off with every two to three days. Keep it clean and fresh. Try finding a shampoo and conditioner that is perfect for your hair type but try changing it up once in a while.

Cleanse your face every morning and evening to keep it clean and never forget to moisturize your skin.Moisturizing keeps the skin radiant and soft, even if you have an oily skin type. Remember to exfoliate the skin once or twice a week to get rid of dead skin.

Brush your teeth twice a day, morning and night, and don't forget to use floss and mouthwash. Avoid drinking carbonated drinks as the acid stains your teeth. If your teeth are crooked, talk to your dentist about braces.

Take care of your nails. You don't have to go to a salon, you can take care of them in the comfort of your own home. Chipped nails look messy, so make sure to remember to repaint them in time. You can always try clear nail polish for a clean, natural, and glossy look.

Part Three of Four:
Caring for your appearanceEdit

Have a versatile fashion sense that suits you. Try looking in magazines or online to find out about what trends are in style, and combine this with your own look, but remember, the most important thing is to wear what YOU want to and what YOU feel comfortable in, not what anyone else says. (talk) 12:39, 20 September 2015 (GMT)Attract Men in Public Step 04.jpg|center]]

Apply makeup that is right for you.Never overdo or cake on your makeup. The point of makeup is to emphasise your best bits and minimise your flaws, not cover your entire face. Wear a little bit of concealer to hide blemishes and under eye circles if you need it. Remember, being a girl doesn't mean you have to wear makeup. Unless you need to hide blemishes, you can go without makeup and still look great.  Wear a bit of BB or CC cream if you don't feel comfortable wearing regular makeup, but still want to cover blemishes.

Part Four of Four:
Caring for your inner selfEdit

Be yourself. Always feel confident with every little thing you do, because no matter what, you will always be beautiful. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. If you believe it, others will too.

Smile and be cheerful. Always smile, it shows people that you are a kind, down to earth girl. And try to see more of the positive side of life as you can, it helps to inspire others to feel the same way and keeps you looking for the good things in life.

Always be a friendly person to everyone.

Get involved with things in school and out.

Remember water! It improves everything: attitude, skin, and health.

Have attitude but a good, safe one.

Feel good about yourself. It doesn't matter what others think. As long as you feel good about yourself, you will be beautiful.

Don't wear too much makeup.

Even if you don't feel beautiful , don't give up.

Don't be rude and nasty to people.

Don't show too much skin if you don't feel comfortable with it.

Never take cutting, suicide, anorexia, or bulimia as a solution to your "ugly problems"(that don't exist). Every girl is beautiful in her own way.

Abia man who wed two women on same day causes stir

Abia man who wed two women on same day causes stir

The news of a man, Ejindu Daniel Kalu, who married two women on the same day in Abriba, Abia State, has inundated social media, as the wedding pictures went viral. It happened penultimate Saturday in Abriba main town, in Ohafia Local Government Area. Witnesses said the wedding took place in front of the groom’s father’s house in Amangwu-Amogudu, Abiriba,  and not in a church as widely spread on Facebook. Also, it was discovered, that no pastor officiated.

When Daily Trust arrived at the home of Ejindu Daniel Kalu, he presented cola nut, as tradition demands and several traditional rites were observed in the Igbo language before breaking the cola. He demanded that the interaction be conducted in Igbo for clarity and understanding of everyone present.

Ejindu said he actually married the two ladies penultimate Saturday, and that he was aware that the incident would generate some curiosity and was prepared for the kind of publicity it generated. He would not give details until he was presented the traditional gift his people give to newly married couples. He introduced himself as a businessman who deals in provisions and building materials in Abiriba and Aba. He owns a shop at Orie Akwa, Abiriba, a market which is a few yards from his father’s shop.

“I know people would come to see me because what I did is not common, and decided that anyone who comes here must give me a present as tradition requires. It’s not as if I am hungry, this is my father’s house but I renovated it and I have my own house,” he said, but refused to speak further.

At the Orie Akwa Market, where 80-year-old Pa Daniel Kalu, Ejindu’s father, has a shop. He told Daily Trust that the double wedding was strange to them, as it is not their tradition.

“Both of them have children for him. One has four children and the other three. When he decided to formally marry, he felt it would be unfair to marry one and leave the other so the best was to marry the two together on the same day. The ceremony was actually in front of my house, not in a church. The identical wedding attire was entirely the idea of the two wives.”

Pa Kalu said before the ceremony, Ejindu went to the parents of the two women to conduct the traditional marriage rites. Traditionally, after that, he had the right to conduct the ceremony in any chosen manner. He named the women Ebere and Oyidiya. Both are from neighboring villages of Amanta and Amaba, all in Abiriba.

Pa Obidike Nwakanma, an elder of the community, also said  he had never seen or heard of something  like that. “Premarital relationship was a taboo, let alone marrying two women together on the same day. I will not encourage my children to do such a thing, that is not in line with Christian or traditional beliefs,” he said.

A titled man from Abiriba and the state Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, also a native of Abiriba, said, “Since I am also from the great ancient kingdom of Abiriba, it behooves on me to make certain clarifications with regards to the marriage in order not to allow the gullible to be misled. The man involved in the marriage story had extra-marital relationship with the two women at different times that led to each of them having children for him outside wedlock. Each had at least three kids for him before the much-publicised wedding, and at some point he decided to bring them home to live with him. They have been living together for at least three years. You cannot validly live with someone’s daughter in Abiriba without paying her bride price and the young man followed the tradition and paid the bride price of the women, and formally brought them home with their children.”

“I know that according to our cultural practices, it is possible for the age group or other traditionally recognized institutions to conduct a “white wedding”  without necessarily involving the church. Even where churches are involved in “white” weddings involving a woman who already has children for a man or is confirmed pregnant, the standard role of the officiating priest is to pray and bless only. For the avoidance of doubt, that wedding was not a classic case of taking two maidens to the altar. The man was already living with them and their children before deciding to formalize the arrangement. The man could have decided to perform the marriage rites for each of the women one week apart and it won’t make news. But he chose to perform the rites same day, probably as a show of equal love for them. He has not done anything different from those who marry two or more women at different times or those who impregnate women and marry them later.”

A MUST READ – These Are The 7 Things You Should Avoid Sharing With Others

It is a good thing to share things with others because love is sharing, however, there are some things you should avoid sharing with anyone.

Here is a list of 7 things you won’t want to share after reading this post so.

1.Toothbrush: The toothbrush is used to wash the mouth. Toothbrush harbour bacteria and other microorganisms after they are used. There is also a possibility of it transferring HIV if its bristles have pierced an infected individual. Therefore, do not share your toothbrush.

2. Nail Clippers: It may seem harmless to share nail clippers but there are a lot of medical conditions that could spread through the sharing of nail clippers which includes fungal infections (e.g. Athlete foot- a common fungal infection that usually affects the area between the toes with symptoms of redness, cracking and itching),

Bacterial infections (e.g. Paronychia- an infection of the nail fold where the nail meets the skin of the finger or toe, which causes redness and swelling and in some cases, blisters) and viral infections like hepatitis (The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends not sharing nail clippers as one of the preventative measures against spreading Hepatitis C, in particular).

3. Earphones: “When you share headphones, you’re doubling the microbial flora in your ears and introducing new bacteria,” says germ expert Kelly Reynolds, Ph.D. from the University of Arizona.

Most people carry these kind of bacteria without any problem but when it goes beyond the threshold of the body or a new bacteria is introduced, it results into a ear infection.

4. Deodorants: Deodorants are applied on the armpit. Sharing deodorants allows for the transfer of skin cells, hair and bacteria. And when this is in excess, it can result into infections or diseases.

5. Underwear: Do I need to talk on this? Sharing underwear sounds gross on its own. Apart from this, it can transfer vaginal infections, sharing underwears increases the probability of getting sexually transmitted infections (STI) and pubic lice

6. Lip Balm: How do we apply lip balm? By rubbing it directly on our lips or by taking a swap on our fingertips and then apply to our lips.

However, both transfer bacteria! The lips have extensive blood vessels just under its surface ,so bacteria can be passed easily into the bloodstream through the thin membrane. Sharing lip balm with others increases the chances of contracting herpes and mouth ulcers!

7. Bar of Soap: Sharing a bar of bathing soap can result in to transmission of scabies, herpes, body lice and harmful bacteria from one person to another. And considering, the inexpensive nature of bar soaps and seriousness of the above problems, you should avoid sharing a bar of soap.
