Super Eagles get new captain for Poland clash
Neither John Obi Mikel nor Ogenyi Onazi his assistant will be wearing the captain's armband when the Super Eagles file out against the Polish national team in Friday's high-profile international friendly.
Feelers from the camp suggest that William Troost-Ekong will be given the honour to captain the Super Eagles against Poland.
Troost-Ekong was born in the Netherlands to a Nigerian father and Dutch mother.
He represented the Netherlands at under-19 and under-20 youth levels.
He made his senior international debut for Nigeria on 13 June 2015, playing 90 minutes in an AFCON qualifier against Chad.
Three-time African champions Nigeria will trade tackles with the Bialo-Czerwoni (White and Red) or Eagles, as the Senior National Team of Poland is known, at the 43,000 –capacity Stadium Wroclaw on Friday night
The kickoff is 8.45pm.
